In early April 2004, we received a call from representatives of the Madison-Cortland ARC. They requested a meeting to discuss sponsoring an annual motorcycle event that would benefit their public charity branch, the Building Futures Foundation.

Executive Director Ray Lewandowski, Public Relations Director Christine Sears, and Red Knight / ARC employee Ken Ernenwein met with us, and after a formal video presentation made their pitch to our membership. Being a newly formed club, we had never organized such an event, but we accepted their proposal.

On August 19, 2004 we held the first Ride For The ARC, which drew in over 100 motorcycles and raised money for the Madison-Cortland ARC's Building Futures Foundation and the Oneida-Lewis Friends of the ARC.

A year later we were back at it, planning the 2nd annual Ride For The ARC, which was held on August 20th, 2005.  Once again the motorcycling community came through, as more than 120 bikes rode the 74 mile route, ending at the Deerfield Fire Station.

In 2007, the Madison-Cortland ARC named Red Knights NY Chapter XIX the "Volunteer of the Year," based on the success and effort behind the "Ride For the ARC."
